Depressurisation
Gently, the chamber seals and begins to increase pressure. You may feel a slight ear pressure, similar to flying, which can be equalised by swallowing or yawning.
Once at the target pressure, you'll breathe concentrated oxygen through a mask. This allows your body to absorb more oxygen into plasma, supporting recovery.
Relax inside the chamber. Many users read, watch a movie, or simply rest during their session, which typically lasts 60-90 minutes.
At the session's end, the chamber gradually returns to normal atmospheric pressure. Your ears will naturally equalise as the pressure decreases.
Soft-Shell vs. Hard-Shell
Soft-shell chambers offer flexibility and ease of use, typically operating at 1.3 to 1.5 ATA. They are ideal for home wellness routines, sports recovery, and general wellbeing, providing a comfortable and accessible entry into hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Their compact design often fits seamlessly into various home environments.
Hard-shell systems provide higher pressures, up to 2.0 ATA, for more intensive applications. These robust units are built for extended use and offer precise pressure control. While requiring a more dedicated space, hard-shell chambers are chosen for their advanced capabilities in supporting rigorous recovery protocols.
